Homemade Tawa Fry Tandoori Chicken

Try this traditional style deliciously crispy, smoky, spicy-sweet tawa fry
tandoori chicken. It's cooked in a fry pan & is often eaten with Naan.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken drumsticks, slit
- salt to taste
- 100 gm yogurt
- 1 lemon, squeezed
- 4 tbsp oil
Spice Marinade
- 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 3tbsp red chilli powder
- 3tbsp chicken tandoori masala
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
Instructions
- Slit the chicken drumsticks and put them into a bowl. Add the spice marinade, squeezed lemon, yogurt and oil.
- Mix well until all the chicken drumsticks are completely coated with the marinade.
- Cover the bowl with a cling wrap and leave it to marinate overnight.
- Take frypan pan and add oil sufficient enough for shallow frying.
- Turn the heat to medium-high and place the marinated drumsticks on the frypan.
- Fry until they turn well browned and crispy, turning them occasionally using a pair of tongs.
- Serve it with mint chutney, onions rings and naan.
Smokey Flavour (Optional)
- Lit a charcoal bead in a container and put the tawa fried tandoori chicken in the container. Cover the container with a lid for 5 minutes. This will give it a smoky flavour that will take your taste buds to another level.
Tips:
- Adjust the heat regularly so that the chicken is cook from outside and inside too.
- If cooked on high-heat throughout the chicken will turn crispy from outside but will stay raw inside.
- When the sound of frying diminishes and less oil bubbles are seen, that's an indication to turn the chicken to other side.
