A prawn pulao recipe is the perfect dish for all the seafood lovers out there. This dish is made with prawns, basmati rice, and a few spices that are traditionally used in Indian cooking. It's easy to make, tastes amazing, and it has plenty of protein!

Ingredients

Prawn Marinade
  • 500 gram prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 6tbsp oil
  • 2 dried red chilli
  • 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 6 tbsp fried onion
  • 3 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tomato pureed
  • 6 tbsp curd
  • coriander leaves
  • mint leaves
  • ½  lemon juice
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½  glass water
  • Salt to taste
Rice Mix
  • 2 cups basmati rice, soaked for 15-20 minutes
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, small
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 cardamom
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 ½ tsp salt
Spice Powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 ½ tsp red chilli powder

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add dried red chillies, sauté for 30 seconds. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for 30 seconds. Add barista and mix well.
  2. Turn the heat to medium low. Add green chillies, spice powders, salt, prawns and mix well.
  3. Add tomato purée, curd, turmeric, quarter glass of water and mix well. Cover and cook for 8 mins
  4. Uncover and squeeze half a lemon, add handful of coriander and mint leaves and mix well.
  5. Add 500 ml of water, bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, star anise and bring the water to boil.
  6. Add soaked rice, salt and mix well. Cook on a high heat until till the water dries completely.
  7. Turn the heat to low and cover and cook for 15 mins till the rice is done.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
