Mutton Masala is a spicy curry that's quite easy to make. It's a great dish to cook on days when you don't want to put in too much effort, but still want something delicious. This easy Mutton Masala recipe will have you enjoying your meal in no time.
Ingredients
  • 500 gm mutton
  • 3 medium sized onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium size tomato, pureed
  • Whole garam masala
  • 2-3 bay leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • 2 big spoonful of oil
Spices
  • 1tsp red chilli powder
  • 1tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp meat masala
  • ½ tsp garam masala powder

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooker, pour oil. When the oil gets hot, put whole garam masala and bay leaves. Sauté for 30 seconds.
  2. Put finely chopped onions and fry until light golden brown.
  3. Put mutton, spices and tomato puree and mix well. Fry on a high heat for 3 to 4 minutes or until oil separates.
  4. Pour half cup water, put the lid on the cooker and boil until 2 whistle on medium flame.
  5. Turn the heat to low and cook for 10 to 12 minutes or till the mutton is well done and tender.
  6. Once the mutton is cooked, set aside to cool. 
  7. Cook on high flame in the pressure cooker to form a thick sauce.
  8. Remove the mutton masala in serving bowl and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. 
  9. Serve with chapati or jeera rice
