This is a delicious and easy recipe for a puff pastry chicken pocket! The puff pastry gets crispy and the filling is savory and moist.

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 egg, light whisked
  • 250 gm chicken mince
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, grated
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 green chilli slit
  • fresh coriander leaves
  • ¼ cup water
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C fan-forced. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté until it turns translucent.
  3. Add tomato, ginger-garlic paste, spices, green chilli chicken mince, salt and mix well.
  4. Add ¼ cup water and sauté on high heat for 2 to 3minutes. Cover and cook for 10 minutes on low flame or until completely dry. Set aside.
  5. Cut 9 squares from each sheet. Place 1 square on the prepared tray.
  6. Spread the filling onto the square and cover with another, sealing the edges so that there's no leakage. Mark edges with fork tines.
  7. Repeat with remain chicken mixture and pastry squares. Brush with egg and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  8. Place the tray in oven and bake for 20 mins or until pastry is golden and puffed.
  9. Serve while still warm and with your favourite dip. Enjoy!

Resist the urge to overfill your pockets, which will make crimping and sealing them difficult.
